Did a Radio 1 gig with Wrighty at the Civic Hall in Grays, Essex back in the mid '80s.
When he was announced and entered the stage the hall broke out into a massive fight as if on cue, so he took the mic and was commentating on the action through the sound system like a Monty Python sketch.
The night had to be abandoned and Wrighty snuck out of the building..
Loads of Mr Angry's turned up that night.

Wrighty is still getting the numbers; it must either be that a lot of folk have bad taste, or (possibly) that a lot of folk still, by and large, enjoy the show..?
